Job Description

On April 20th 2022, Vingroup signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement with the UK‘s leading education system Brighton College to establish Brighton College Vietnam. 

Brighton College Vietnam at Vinhomes Ocean Park, Hanoi is now open for admissions for the 2023-2024 academic year from grade 1 to grade 10 (from 5 to 16 years old). This is the first campus to be established under the partnership between Vingroup and Brighton College, an UK’s top private school with nearly 200 years of history.

We are looking for talents for a variety of positions at the school.

Brighton College Vietnam places safeguarding of its pupils as its highest priority and as such references will be taken up before interviews and the successful applicant will be subject to appropriate qualification checks and police checks as to their suitability to work with children. Appropriate safeguarding and safer recruitment questions will form part of the selection process.

 I. JOB DESCRIPTION

Line Manager: Deputy Head (Pastoral) who is also the DSL

A School Psychology Officer is dedicated to supporting pupils’ well-being by carrying out specific tasks, including:

  • MONITORING: Observe and monitor pupils’ mental well being; cooperate with related parties to gather all information and take actions in a timely manner;
  • ASSESSMENT: Carry out psychological & educational assessments for pupils that are determined as in needs of help;
  • COUNSELLING: Discuss and work closely with teachers, school staff, parents and experts to make sure that pupils are fully supported to deal with any psychological difficulties and challenges;
  • CONSULTATION: Directly support pupils who face psychological difficulties or social, behavioural or learning differences.

You will be expected to work closely with the leadership team and the Heads of EAL, Additional Support and Pastoral Leads to ensure a multi agency approach to supporting pupils.

You will also have a keen understanding of safeguarding and work with the Deputy Head (Pastoral) as DSL to ensure that all pupils are supported and kept safe at all times.

II. REQUIREMENTS

  • A bachelor’s degree in school psychology, school counseling, clinical psychology, or educational psychology. Postgraduates in the abovementioned fields are preferred;
  • Candidates who have at least three years of experience working in psychology or school counseling are preferred;
  • Experience of studying abroad or enrolment in international programs is a plus;
  • Good command of English;
  • Abilities to think systematically and in multiple perspectives; Good critical and problem analysis skills;
  • Professional manners and abilities to communicate with confidence to work with parents, students and experts;
  • Good adaptation to a disciplined and professional work environment.
